Where Healing and Story Intersect

Toward The Light Books was created from my deep conviction that words are sacred and that honest storytelling has the power to guide hearts toward healing. My name is Tammy Higdon Stebbins, and I write for individuals who are drawn to memoir and meaningful fiction with emotional and spiritual depth. My work speaks to readers seeking stories that confront pain honestly while offering hope, truth, and renewal. I also connect with followers of faith-based and inspirational content, aspiring writers longing to tell their own stories, and members of my local community in Prospect, Kentucky, and surrounding areas who value authentic conversation. Through books, speaking engagements, and mentorship, I create spaces where vulnerability is honored, faith is strengthened, and stories are treated with the reverence they deserve.

Writing Mentorship

I guide aspiring writers as they find their voice and gain confidence in telling their story. With encouragement and honest insight, I help others approach writing with clarity, courage, and purpose from the heart and faith.

Author Speaking

I speak about the healing power of honest storytelling and the sacred strength of words. Through faith-centered messages and personal reflection, I share how truth, courage, and forgiveness can guide us toward lasting hope.

Book Events

I connect with readers through meaningful book signings, readings, and conversations. These gatherings allow me to share the heart behind my work and encourage others through authentic discussion about faith and healing.

"I believe that words are greatly undervalued and overused. Words are sacred and when used correctly, they can bring people out of the darkness and into the light."

From Silence to Purpose

My story began in hardship, shaped by poverty, violence, and trauma. I learned early how deeply words could wound—but I also discovered their power to heal. Writing became the way I processed my own pain, and through that process, I found faith, freedom, and forgiveness. As a speech-language pathologist for over 30 years, I have walked beside children and adults who struggled to find their voice, which only deepened my belief that language is fragile and sacred. My mission now flows from both my personal journey and my professional life: to tell honest stories that confront pain without fear and to guide others toward healing through the power of truth. I believe some of the hardest stories to tell are the ones that ultimately set us free.
